What is health & wellness coaching? Let's talk about that. 


Health & Wellness coaching is a process that facilitates healthy, sustainable behavior changes by challenging a client to develop their inner wisdom, identify their values, and transform their goals into action. My job as a health coach, is to help you set goals, make an action plan and then reach those goals. I encourage small steps that add up to make lasting lifestyle changes! 

I want to be a supportive mentor to you. I will work with you to help you feel your best through lifestyle changes. That might mean adding in more fruits and veggies or adding more water or offering options for different types of exercise or might mean encouraging you to include more self-care in your lifestyle. Everyone's journey to health & wellness is different. 

Many time my job entails helping you to balance your primary foods. Now you're asking what is a Primary Food Aleisha? Primary foods are the foods that nourish us that are not on our plates. These basic primary foods include: Physical exercise, healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, and a spiritual practice. I believe health and wellness is more than the food that nourishes us and more than the number on the scale. 

Modern nutrition - carbs, proteins, fruits, and vegetables - is really just one source of nourishment, which is referred to as secondary foods. Secondary foods nourish our bodies, but are not able to give us the joy, meaning, or fulfillment that primary food provide. A person might have the healthiest diet in the world and exercise every day...yet if other areas of their life are out of balance, he or she is definitely not going to be or feel their best. Even when we are not being fulfilled in one area of our life, the void is all too frequently filled by food. When we use secondary food (the food on our plates) as a way to alleviate or suppress our hunger for primary food, the body and mind suffer. If you're not getting the primary food you need, eating all the food in the world won't satisfy your hunger.

Many times, the side effect of balancing our primary foods is weight loss, better sleep, less stress and an overall feeling of positive shifts in health and wellness.
